Bilawal Bhutto Appeals for Stability Amid AJK Protests and Unrest
ISLAMABAD: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari appealed to demonstrators in Azad Jammu and Kashmir to end their protests peacefully and help maintain peace and stability.
According to Bilawal, the upcoming Islamabad Agreement is a major development while global attention continues to be directed towards Pakistan. He said the unrest in Azad Kashmir is negatively affecting the Kashmiri struggle as well as Pakistan’s image.
Bilawal said there is a risk that hostile groups could use the current situation for their own benefit. He asked protesters to maintain peace and urged individuals involved those who broke the law to surrender to authorities and allow the legal process to take its course.
According to him, that political disputes and public grievances are the proper way to address political concerns, not street protests. He stressed that parliament is the right platform for addressing and resolving political issues.
He stated that his party has already called on the Election Commission to take back the early election schedule announcement. According to him, the PPP will pursue a political solution and support establishing a Truth and Reconciliation Commission to settle pending issues and bring lasting peace.
