Sea Breeze Returns to Karachi, Bringing Relief from Heatwave
After enduring days of intense heat and high humidity, Karachi residents are set to experience some relief as the sea breeze returns to the city. The Meteorological Department has forecast partly cloudy weather for Saturday.
According to the weather report, “Southwesterly winds are blowing in the city with 20 kilometers speed as strong winds are likely during the day.”
Despite the returning breeze, weather experts note that conditions will remain hot and humid, with humidity levels recorded at 72 percent, which contributes to a higher feel-like temperature. The maximum temperature is expected to range between 35 to 37 degrees Celsius, according to weather officials.
The arrival of cool, moist air from the Arabian Sea is expected to provide some comfort to residents. The sea breeze plays a crucial role in regulating coastal temperatures and creating a more bearable atmosphere in a city that frequently experiences extreme heat.
Health experts continue to urge citizens to take necessary precautions, particularly during peak afternoon hours. Staying hydrated, avoiding prolonged direct sun exposure, and using sun protection remain essential recommendations.
Karachi’s coastal climate typically relies on the sea breeze to keep extreme temperatures in check. In recent days, however, the absence of this breeze led to a sharp rise in temperatures, with high humidity levels making conditions feel significantly hotter than usual.
