Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's Father Passes Away in Lebanon
Lebanese news sources revealed that Sayyed Abdul Karim Nasrallah, the father of the former Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, has passed away at the age of 90. He died following a period of declining health and age-related complications on Monday.
In late 2024, Hezbollah confirmed that its longtime leader, Hassan Nasrallah, was martyred during a major Israeli airstrike on Beirut on Friday, September 27. The Israeli military had announced the assassination earlier that day.
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who rose to prominence following the 2006 conflict with Israel, was regarded as a hero by many across Lebanon and the wider region. Born in 1960 in East Beirut, his early life is often reflected in political narratives.
Moreover, one of nine siblings, he was known for his piety from a young age, frequently traveling to the city center to seek out secondhand Islamic texts. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah often recounted how, as a boy, he would spend his free time studying a portrait of the Shia scholar Musa al-Sadr, a clear foreshadowing of his future dedication to political activism and the Shia community in Lebanon.
