Iran claims main headquarters of US air base in Bahrain destroyed
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it destroyed the main command building and headquarters of a US air base in Bahrain during the fourteenth wave of Operation “True Promise 4.”
According to the IRGC, its Navy launched a large-scale drone and missile attack early this morning on the US air base located in the Sheikh Isa area of Bahrain. In a statement, the IRGC said that 20 drones and three missiles hit their planned targets. It added that the main command building and headquarters were destroyed, and fuel depots at the base caught fire. Flames and thick smoke were seen rising from the area.
Earlier on Tuesday, the thirteenth wave of Operation True Promise-4 was carried out by the drone unit of the IRGC Navy. That attack targeted the US Marine base at Arifjan Airfield in Kuwait.
In its statement, the IRGC said the enemy “must understand that its days of prosperity are over, and they will find no security, not even within their own homes.”
It also declared, “To the Islamic world and freedom-seekers, we declare that we will not cease our struggle until the destruction of global tyranny and Zionism, and we will take vengeance upon the oppressors and those in power, with God’s permission.”
The IRGC says these actions are part of retaliatory attacks on US military assets in regional countries and on targets in the Israeli-occupied territories. The group says the attacks began after the United States and Israel launched what it called an unprovoked war of aggression against Iran over the weekend.
