Abbas Araghchi wins hearts with ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ tweet

04 April, 2026 16:57

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has gained attention in Pakistan after sharing a heartfelt “Pakistan Zindabad” message on social media.

The tweet quickly went viral, with many Pakistanis appreciating the gesture as a sign of strong ties and respect between Iran and Pakistan, especially during ongoing regional tensions.

At the same time, Araghchi rejected reports claiming that Iran refused to attend peace talks in Islamabad. He said Iran’s position was “misrepresented” by U.S. media. These reports had suggested that Tehran declined to join talks and did not accept U.S. demands.

“Iran’s position is being misrepresented by U.S. media,” Araghchi said. He added that Iran is open to dialogue under the right conditions. “We are deeply grateful to Pakistan for its efforts and have never refused to go to Islamabad. What we care about are the terms of a conclusive and lasting end to the illegal war imposed on us,” he said.

He also shared a video showing people in Iran waving Pakistani flags, which appeared to be a gesture of appreciation for Pakistan’s support and diplomatic efforts.

Reacting to this, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar welcomed the statement and thanked Araghchi.

“Truly appreciate your clarification, my dear brother,” Dar wrote in response on X.
