Donald Trump Says Iran War ‘Almost Over’
Washington: US President Donald Trump has said that the ongoing war against Iran is nearing an end and things are rapidly moving towards an agreement.
In an interview with American broadcaster Fox News, Donald Trump said, “I think the war is very close to being over; I think it’s almost over.” A clip of his statement has been broadcast on American media.
President Donald Trump added that the situation will become clearer in the coming days, but he said Iran is very interested in making a deal. “I think they want to make a deal very badly,” he said.
In his statement, the US President once again claimed that if the US had not gone to war against Iran, Iran would have acquired nuclear weapons by now. He said that US actions have played a significant role in preventing Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
According to analysts, President Trump’s statements come at a time when tensions remain high in the region, but diplomatic efforts are also ongoing and hopes are being raised for a possible ceasefire or agreement.
