Iran Executes Jaish al-Adl Militant Amer Ramesh After Supreme Court Upholds Terrorism Conviction

Iran’s judiciary has confirmed the execution of a militant convicted of carrying out terrorist activities in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.

According to official reports, the individual, identified as Amer Ramesh, was executed early Sunday after the country’s Supreme Court upheld his death sentence and all legal procedures were finalized.

Ramesh had been arrested during a counterterrorism operation conducted in the Pir Sohrab rural district of Chabahar County. Authorities stated that he was involved in multiple acts of violence, including planting explosives and carrying out surprise attacks against Iranian law enforcement personnel.

The Provincial Revolution Court found him guilty of terrorism-related charges, including membership in the Jaish al-Adl group and association with a separate anti-Iran militant network led by fugitive Abdul-Ghaffar Naqshbandi. He was subsequently sentenced to death.

Judicial authorities said the ruling was based on substantial evidence, documentation, and his own admissions. The Supreme Court later reviewed and confirmed the verdict.

Officials reiterated that the region of Sistan and Baluchestan, located near the Pakistan border, has experienced repeated security incidents over recent years. Several attacks have targeted both civilians and security forces, often attributed to militant groups believed to have external backing.

In one of the deadliest recent incidents, ten Iranian law enforcement personnel were killed in an હુમ attack in the Gohar Kuh district of Taftan County on October 26, 2024. The Jaish al-Adl group claimed responsibility for that assault.
