Iran Adviser Warns US of “Catastrophic” War Consequences
A senior advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei has warned that any renewed aggression against Iran would result in severe consequences for the United States.
Mohsen Rezaei, a former commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), stated that Iran’s military response capability remains strong and deterrent in the region.
“History will record that the Iranian nation sank the American superpower in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman,” he said, emphasizing Iran’s strategic posture in regional waters.
He further claimed that even US military personnel are aware of the risks, stating, “American military personnel are warning that if the country continues the war, there is a possibility that their vessels will be sunk and their soldiers killed,” he added.
Rezaei also warned that in the event of renewed conflict, Iran could take US forces captive, highlighting the country’s preparedness for escalation.
The advisor noted that Iranian forces previously responded to US and Israeli actions with multiple waves of retaliatory strikes across West Asia, targeting sensitive sites linked to both countries.
His remarks come amid reports from US officials acknowledging that Iran has maintained significant military capability despite recent confrontations.
The geopolitical tensions intensified following statements by former US President Donald Trump regarding ceasefire arrangements and ongoing restrictions affecting Iranian maritime activity.
In response to escalating pressures, Iran reportedly restricted access to the Strait of Hormuz, allowing only authorized vessels, a move that impacted global energy markets.
Rezaei also commented on internal US political divisions, suggesting that Trump could shift blame depending on congressional decisions regarding future conflict escalation.
He added that a peaceful resolution would require Washington to accept Iran’s conditions, which include ending aggression, lifting sanctions, and providing compensation.
Addressing rumors about Iran’s leadership, he stated that the Leader is in strong condition, describing him as “young, healthy, and energetic,” and actively managing national affairs.
He also made strong remarks regarding long-term regional tensions, stating: “The revenge for the martyred Leader remains in place and will not be fulfilled except with the elimination of Israel.”
Rezaei concluded by arguing that recent developments show shifting global alliances, claiming Europe is increasingly distancing itself from US policy positions.
