Missiles Hit US Navy Ship Near Strait of Hormuz After Ignoring Iran Warning

04 May, 2026 16:17

A US Navy vessel has reportedly been struck by two missiles near the strategic Strait of Hormuz after allegedly ignoring warnings issued by Iranian naval forces, according to regional media reports.

The incident was reported by Fars News Agency, which stated that the American warship was operating near Jask port with the intention of entering the Strait of Hormuz. The report claimed that the vessel violated maritime security protocols set by Iran and proceeded despite multiple warnings.

According to the report, Iranian forces responded by launching missiles at the vessel, causing damage and forcing it to withdraw from the area.

Iran has previously declared that any unauthorized transit through the Strait of Hormuz would not be permitted and warned that violations would trigger a strong military response.

Earlier, senior Iranian military officials reiterated their stance, warning that any foreign forces attempting to approach or enter the strategic waterway would face direct action.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump had recently stated that the United States would ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait, saying operations to “liberate the movement of ships” would begin immediately.

As of now, there has been no independent confirmation regarding the extent of the damage or any casualties resulting from the reported strike.

The Strait of Hormuz remains a critical global shipping route, and tensions in the region have continued to rise following ongoing military and geopolitical disputes involving the United States and Iran.
