Israeli navy attacks Gaza aid flotilla, kidnaps 428 volunteers

The Israeli Navy, in clear violation of international law, has carried out a brutal attack on and illegally seized another large flotilla carrying humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip in international waters.

According to an official statement issued by a senior official of the Global Solidarity Flotilla, Israeli Navy warships forcibly intercepted and illegally boarded the aid ships in international waters about 150 kilometers off the coast of Gaza.

Under international maritime law, the territorial limits of any country extend only 22 kilometers from its coast.
