King Charles Marks World Environment Day with Message on Sustainability
On World Environment Day the palace drew attention King Charles’ decades of dedication to environmental awareness and sustainability.
For nearly half a century, the Britain king has spent years supporting environmental and charitable causes through The King’s Foundation, focusing on environmental sustainability and reconnecting communities with nature.
The monarch marked the environment day through a joint Instagram post, The post focused on sustainable living and environmental responsibility.
”Finding Harmony on #WorldEnvironmentDay,” the caption began. “In 1970, at the age of 21, The King warned of the dangerous effects of plastic pollution on the environment. Over the five decades that have followed, His Majesty has continued to use his unique position to champion a sustainable future.”

In the shared video King Charles seen as a young Charles in 1970, when he spoke as the Prince of Wales about the environmental risks posed by plastic pollution.
They further wrote, “Founded by His Majesty, as Prince of Wales, The King’s Foundation is underpinned by his philosophy of Harmony, which sees us as a part of nature, not apart from nature.”
The title of the documentary of King Charles for the environment is Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision released on Amazon Prime Video on February 6, 2026.
