Hezbollah MP Rejects US-Backed Framework Vows Resistance Movement Will Keep Its Arms

A Lebanese lawmaker from Hezbollah has rejected a United States-backed framework agreement that he said seeks to dismantle the resistance movement. Speaking to Lebanon’s Al Mayadeen television on Friday, Hassan Fadlallah, a member of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc, said the group would not allow the proposed agreement to be implemented.
Fadlallah said Hezbollah would remain firmly committed to its resistance strategy and retain its weapons, describing the movement’s opposition to the proposal as “serious.” He argued that any effort aimed at disarming Hezbollah would be firmly resisted.
The remarks came after the US State Department announced the framework agreement earlier on Friday. Fadlallah’s comments reflect Hezbollah’s position on the proposal. The United States has presented the framework as part of its policy approach, while Hezbollah has rejected it, saying it will not accept any arrangement that seeks to dismantle the group or strip it of its military capabilities.
