Qatar Calls for Diplomacy Amid Regional Tensions and Civilian Casualties

Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has said that continued violence despite ceasefire understandings is unacceptable, stressing that diplomacy must remain the only path forward to resolve regional conflicts.
He said reports of civilian casualties, including around 100 deaths in Lebanon over a short period due to Israeli strikes, were deeply concerning and highlighted the urgent need to respect international agreements. He emphasized that such developments undermine efforts to stabilize the region.
The Qatari prime minister also noted that Iran, as a neighboring country, plays an important role in regional stability. He called for greater understanding between Gulf states and Iran, urging dialogue, trust-building, and cooperation among all regional actors to prevent further escalation.
