Iranian Police Officer Martyred in Terrorist Attack in Southeastern Iran

An Iranian police officer was Martyred in a terrorist attack in southeastern Iran after armed assailants opened fire on him while he was traveling to his workplace. The attack took place in Sib and Suran County in Sistan and Baluchistan Province.

According to the Information Center of the Sistan and Baluchistan Police, the victim, Mohammad Palangi, was a Sunni police officer from the Baluch ethnic community. Authorities said he was on his way to work when gunmen targeted him in the shooting.

Police officials said efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack, adding that further details will be released as the investigation progresses. The incident comes amid a series of recent attacks targeting security personnel in different parts of Iran.
