Israel Detained More Than 80 Suspects in Military Intelligence Leak Investigations says Ex-Israeli Official

Israeli authorities have arrested more than 80 people on suspicion of collecting intelligence related to military bases, according to a former senior military intelligence security official cited by Israeli military radio. The report said the arrests were made as part of investigations conducted by Israel’s internal security agencies.
According to the Ex Israeli Official, during the recent 40-day conflict with Iran, more than 30 security investigations were launched to identify military personnel suspected of leaking photographs and sensitive information from military installations. The cases reportedly focused on preventing unauthorized disclosure of information that could compromise military operations.
Speaking at a professional conference, the former head of the Israeli military’s Information Security Department, identified only as Colonel G said the volume of investigations was unprecedented. He noted that the number of security probes initiated during the conflict would typically be expected to accumulate over the course of an entire decade.
