Iran strongly reacts to Trump’s Strait of Hormuz statement

Iran has strongly reacted to US President Donald Trump’s statement regarding the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said that Iran alone has the authority to decide whether the Strait of Hormuz remains open or closed. He added that Iran is not afraid of US threats or displays of military power.

Earlier, President Donald Trump had said that he would soon announce that the Strait of Hormuz would be considered US territory.

Speaking to Fox News, Trump also said that the United States was preparing to impose stronger economic pressure on Iran to force Tehran to end the war.
