Iran Ready to Fight for Generations to Defend Homeland: Army Chief

Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army Major General Amir Hatami says Iran is prepared to fight for generations to come to prevent foreign powers and enemies from undermining the country, stressing that the Iranian nation will not allow its homeland to be harmed.

Speaking at a ceremony in the northwestern holy city of Mashhad on Monday, Hatami said Iran would be prepared to fight for “10 generations or 20 generations” rather than allow the country to be weakened. He added that demonstrating military strength was necessary to make the enemy understand that it could not act against Iran according to its own wishes.

Hatami said the United States and Israel continued to pursue conspiracies and schemes against Iran despite failing to achieve their objectives in the latest war against the Islamic Republic. He stressed that Iran would not allow its territory to become a testing ground for foreign schemes and military adventures.
