IRGC Rejects Claims of Limited Iranian Missile Stockpiles

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has rejected claims by US officials that Iran possesses only a limited number of missiles, saying the Islamic Republic has maintained its missile production capabilities and continued manufacturing throughout the conflict. IRGC spokesman Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi said earlier assumptions that Iran’s missile stockpiles would eventually run out had proven incorrect, with the country’s missile capabilities remaining sustained.

Mohebbi said Iranian missiles have also become more technologically advanced, noting that they are no longer limited to striking pre-determined targets. According to the IRGC spokesman, Iranian missiles can be guided and their trajectories altered during flight, enabling them to identify and track targets. He said US attacks on Iranian infrastructure, including the South Pars gas field in Asaluyeh, prompted Iranian forces to launch retaliatory missile strikes against infrastructure and centers linked to US and Israeli interests.

The IRGC spokesman said Washington has increasingly turned toward economic pressure and sanctions because Iran’s military capabilities have made it more difficult for the United States to achieve its objectives through military means. He described the latest sanctions as part of a broader shift in US strategy, while emphasizing that Iran’s continued missile production and military capabilities remain intact.
