Resistance Attacks Against Taliban Reported Across Afghanistan

A series of resistance attacks against the Taliban regime have been reported in different parts of Afghanistan over the past several days.

The attacks have targeted Taliban personnel, intelligence members, checkpoints and resources. Resistance groups say the operations have increased in response to Taliban actions against former Afghan security personnel, pressure on local communities and strict measures in various areas.

On September 5, a joint operation by Sazman-e-Ufuq-e-Naw and the Andarab Resistance Front targeted the Taliban in Andarab. The group claimed that three Taliban personnel were killed and five others were wounded.

On September 6, the Afghanistan United Front (AUF) claimed a targeted attack on a Taliban intelligence officer in Kandahar, killing one officer. The group also claimed another attack on Taliban intelligence in Ghazni on the same day, in which one intelligence officer was killed.

On September 5, a Taliban checkpoint in Badakhshan’s Kishim district was targeted. The AUF said local Taliban personnel involved in the detention of former Afghan security officials were wounded.

The AUF also claimed an attack on Taliban officials responsible for promoting virtue and preventing vice in Helmand’s Nawa district on September 4, saying two officials were killed.

The Afghan Green Trend claimed an attack on a Taliban oil tanker in northern Salang on August 31, saying its operations against Taliban resources are expanding.

The National Independence Front also claimed several attacks. It said two Taliban intelligence officers were killed in an attack in Islam Qala, Herat, on September 5. The group also claimed that two Taliban intelligence officers were killed in an attack in Kabul’s Paghman district on September 4.

On September 2, the National Independence Front said it targeted an oil tanker linked to the Taliban’s 209th Khalid bin Walid Brigade in Mahipar. The group claimed the tanker was destroyed and the Taliban driver was killed.

The Afghan Republic Front also claimed an attack on a Taliban stronghold in Kabul on September 4, saying two hand grenade attacks caused casualties and damage.

The recent attacks across several provinces indicate growing security pressure on the Taliban regime and present a significant challenge to its internal stability.
