Iranian Army, IRGC Stress Unity Amid Confrontation with US-Israeli Forces

Senior Iranian Army and Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) officials have emphasized the close coordination between the two military branches, saying their cooperation has enabled Iran to confront heavily armed US and Israeli forces. Army spokesperson Brigadier General Mohammad Akrami-Nia said Iran had stood up to adversaries equipped with vast military capabilities, struck them and prevented them from achieving their objectives.
The remarks came during a coordination meeting at Army headquarters in Tehran between Akrami-Nia and IRGC spokesperson Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi. The officials discussed strengthening media coordination while highlighting operational cooperation between the Army and IRGC. Mohebbi praised the Army as a powerful and popular institution, comparing its role in the current confrontation with its contribution during the 1980–1988 Iran-Iraq War, which Iran refers to as the First Sacred Defense.
Both commanders said national unity had frustrated attempts to create divisions inside Iran. Mohebbi called for the solidarity among the armed forces, government and people to be preserved in history, while Akrami-Nia said unified command and national cohesion had undermined Washington’s psychological warfare efforts. Their statements come amid the ongoing confrontation involving Iran, the United States and Israel, during which Iranian forces have reported missile and drone operations against US military positions, air-defense interceptions of advanced drones, and heightened maritime controls around the Strait of Hormuz.
