Armed Group Claims Targeted Attack on Taliban Intelligence Official in Badakhshan

The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (NRF), an armed opposition group, has claimed responsibility for a targeted attack in Faizabad, the capital of Afghanistan’s Badakhshan province.
According to the group, its fighters targeted a deputy intelligence official of the Taliban in the sixth district of Faizabad.
The NRF said the Taliban intelligence official and two of his guards were killed in the attack.
Local and regional media reports identified the targeted official as Safiullah Mutawakkil, described as a deputy intelligence official in Badakhshan.
The NRF said it would continue targeted operations against the Taliban across Afghanistan.
The claims could not be independently verified, and the Taliban authorities had not publicly confirmed the reported casualties at the time of publication.
