Govt working on changes in tariff structure to facilitate local production, according to the Prime Minister’s Adviser on for Commerce and Investment.

Abdul Razak Dawood said the government is aggressively working on changes in tariff structure for upcoming budget

He said government wants to facilitate local production in pursuit of ‘Made in Pakistan Policy.

In a series of tweets, he said Coronavirus has changed the world.

Dawood also referred to completely different business processes in the post-covid19 world.

He said such difficult times always bring out new opportunities, new products and new ways of thinking.

So, the adviser termed it a golden opportunity for Pakistan to pursue ‘Make in Pakistan Policy’.

Moreover, he said Ministry of Commerce pursue this policy.

On the other hand, government is also working on improvement in Ehsaas Cash programme.

Dr Sania said NADRA would provide easy solutions to Ehsaas Emergency Cash recipients within 24 hours to complete biometric identifications and death registrations.

In a tweet, she said they had waived off death registration fee of fifty rupees.

Meanwhile, she reviewed arrangements at newly opened NADRA Media offices in ICT.

Dr Sania Nishtar called the opening of offices of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) vital for beneficiaries of Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme who face biometric verification problems.

She appreciated NADRA for decreasing processing time for issuance of death certificates.

NADRA has decreased the time from seven days to just twenty four hours.

Dr Sania hailed it as a great service to the cash recipients.

However, people also drew her attention towards lack of transparency in the Ehsaas Emergency Cash programme. Someone said many eligible remains deprived of the amount but many ineligible have got cash under the programme.
