India frees former CM of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Former Chief Minister of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti, has been has remained behind the bars for more than a year of detention.

The Indian authorities had detained her on 5th of August 2019.

Then, the Indian government had abolished the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir through its illegal action.

The daughter of Mehbooba Mufti had filed a petition in the Indian Supreme Court challenging her mother’s detention.

Meanwhile, Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) said India’s imposition of property tax aim at harassing the people of the held territory.

Addressing a press conference in Srinagar, Co-Chairman of the Alliance, Farooq Dar termed the tax as unjustified.

He said the tax is being enforced upon people forcibly, which is a grave injustice.

Farooq Dar said people are already reeling under the financial crunches due to slowdown of economy and this unnecessary and extra property tax will add more burden on them.

On Tuesday, people staged protest demonstrations in Srinagar against the rising Indian state terrorism in the territory.

Massive protests rocked Rawalpora area of Srinagar after Indian troops deployed on the road thrashed two local youth without any reason.

The locals blocked the road at Main Chowk, Rawalpora, against the incident.

Further more, they said they were protesting against the unjustified thrashing of our boys.

“We want action against these Indian soldiers who beat up our children mercilessly,” one of the protesting locals said.
