People of Gilgit Baltistan have welcomed the announcement of Prime Minister for provisional provincial status to Gilgit Baltistan.

While commenting on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s announcement, Governor Raja Jalal Hussain said that people of GB will feel inclusion in national mainstream.

Furthermore, he said it would address a longstanding issue.

He said people of GB will get representation in National Finance Commission, National Assembly and Senate.

Meanwhile, caretaker Chief Minister Mir Afzal Khan said provisional province will help end 73-year long deprivations among people of GB.

Besides, he said it would put the area on rapid development and prosperity.

Speaker GB Assembly Fida Muhammad Nashad also commented on the issue.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan has won the hearts of people of GB and proved himself a real leader of Pakistan.

On the other hand, Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Hussain Chaudhry has said that government would grant Gilgit-Baltistan status of fifth province with consensus of all stakeholders.

He said this, while talking to a private news channel.

Fawad said the people of Gilgit Baltistan have equal rights of citizenship.

He further said granting status of province to GB will bring the people of the area into main stream.
