Coronavirus kills 40 more people amid over 5000 smart lockdowns which the government had to impose.

The second wave of Coronavirus intensifies in Pakistan. The ratio of positive cases has also risen to eight point five percent in a day.

Authorities concerned have confirmed 40 more deaths during the last 24 hours.

They also confirmed 2,839 new cases of infection.

The death toll in the country has reached 8,025.

398,024 patients stand recovered from the pandemic.

Noe, Pakistan has 48,576 active cases.

Meanwhile, 5,082 smart lockdowns are in place across the country to check the spread of COVID-19.

The information was shared with National Command and Operation Center in Islamabad on Monday.

The forum was informed that 1459 smart lockdowns are in place in Punjab, 206 in Sindh, 182 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 3205 in Islamabad Capital Territory and thirty in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Azad Kashmir witnesses complete lockdown till 6th of next month.

The forum was informed that the virus positivity ratio is 8.53 percent.

Meanwhile, Health experts briefed the meeting on disease pattern, Covid spread in various areas and enforcement measures being taken to contain the pandemic.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan slammed the opposition parties (alliance namely PDM) rallies at the cost of people’s lives during the times of COVID-19 pandemic.
