NAB arrests PMLN stalwart Khawaja Asif in assets beyond means case today (Tuesday).

According to a statement, National Accountability Bureau Rawalpindi will present him in accountability court, Islamabad tomorrow.

Member of National Assembly Asif Khawaja belongs to Sialkot.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Accountability Barrister Shahzad Akbar confirmed his arrest.

He said National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader.

Furthermore, he cited registration of a case of assets beyond means against Khawaja in the past.

But he said that the PML-N leader failed in satisfying the accountability court regarding his assets.

While talking to a private TV channel, he said Khawaja Asif remained involved in massive corruption.

Shahzad Akbar further accused him of corrupt practices.

Moreover, he noted Kh Asif had not provided any proof against the corruption charges to the anti-graft watchdog.

He said that like his supremo Nawaz Sharif, Khawaja Asif also had looted the national exchequer ruthlessly during their tenure.

Meanwhile, he also spoke Maryam Nawaz. He accused her of using the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) as a shield to protect her father from corruption charges.

Shahzad Akbar also referred to to the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP)’s decision regarding PDM decisions.

He said that PPP had categorically stated that it would decide about tendering resignation from assembles on the return of Nawaz Sharif to the country.
