PM orders awareness campaign for implementation of SOPs to contain Covid19 third wave in the country.

In this regard, Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed to start an aggressive awareness campaign.

He called for implementation of SOPs to contain third wave of Covid-19 in the country.

The PM issued these directives, while addressing a meeting of National Coordination Committee on Covid-19 through video link today (Wednesday).

He further emphasized wearing mask as the effective strategy to prevent spread of third wave.

He also expressed concern over negligence in observing SOPs.

The Prime Minister said that wearing of mask has remained more effective across the world.

Therefore, he said we adopted a balance policy to prevent the pandemic and to protect livelihood simultaneously.

Moreover, the PM directed the Provincial Governments to ensure implementation of SOPs.

Besides, he ordered spreading awareness through effective role of district administration.

78 people died due to Coronavirus

Meanwhile, 78 people died due to Coronavirus during last 24 hours across the country.

National Command and Operation Center also confirmed 4,757 new positive cases of the pandemic.

According to NCOC’s update, labs conducted tests of 43,965 people during the same period.

Moreover, the death toll due to COVID-19 pandemic has now reached 14,434.

However, the number of active cases stood at 50,397.

Meanwhile, 603,126 patients stand recovered from the disease.

Meanwhile, District Administration Peshawar has imposed Section-144.
