Sindh government to purchase electric vehicles for employees
The Sindh government will auction off useless vehicles within a month and buy electric vehicles (EVs) as replacement for its employees in Karachi.
In this connection, an important meeting of the Cabinet’s Sub-Committee on Austerity was held under the chairmanship of Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon in Karachi.
Provincial ministers Saeed Ghani, Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, Ali Hassan Zardari, and various department secretaries also attended the meeting.
Committee members, during the meeting, issued directives to regulate the allotment of government vehicles through clear guidelines. Secretaries of various departments presented a 10-year record of government vehicles.
In his address, Sharjeel Inam Memon, said that the auction process should be completed within a month to avoid further waste of resources and to fulfill the need for new vehicles.
The minister emphasised that the purchase of EVs would benefit the government, save on fuel and make the auction process easier.
He said that the government wanted to ensure transparency and accountability in the use of public resources.
