BCCI surrenders before ICC, confirms to include Pakistan name on kit
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has surrendered before the International Cricket Council (ICC) rules, as it confirmed to print Pakistan’s name on the India’s jersey.
Controversy emerged on Tuesday, when BCCI reportedly refused to include Pakistan’s name on its ICC Champions Trophy kit.
After the backlash and ICC pressure, India’s governing body confirmed that it will feature Pakistan’s name on the kit.
The Indian team will follow the guidelines issued by the ICC for the mega-event, it added.
The BCCI has clarified that the Indian team will follow to the guidelines stipulated by the ICC.
It is pertinent to note that the Champions Trophy is slated to happen from February 19.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had urged the ICC to ensure the implementation of the policies strictly from the BCCI.
