Toni Kroos set for football comeback
Germany and Real Madrid great Toni Kroos has announced his football comeback just seven months after quitting the game.
The star midfielder hanged up his boots for Real Madrid, after leading them to a record 15th Champions League triumph at Wembley, while he retired from football a month later, when Germany were eliminated from the European Championships in their own backyard.
His played his last match was against Spain in the campaign.
However, just seven months on, Kroos has been announced as the newest addition to the ‘Icon League’.
The seven five-a-sider tournament is taking place in Dusseldorf’s Castello from March 10. The tournament will have 13 match days with several prolific stars participating.
Some of the noticeable star are Robert Andrich and Antonio Rudiger, the ex-Bayern stars Franck Ribery and David Alaba, ice hockey star Leon Draisaitl and commentator Wolff Fuss.
Kroos’ participation was announced in an Instagram post from the league that showed him staring at his iconic Adidas boot, with the caption ‘One more dance’.
This will not be Kroos’ first tournament. He was part of the debut season as well, when he turned out for the club ‘B2B United’
It has not been revealed who he will play for this time around.
