PCB reacts to India’s claim of loss to Pakistan from Champions Trophy
ICC releases new promo of Pakistan team
After the ICC Champions Trophy, the Indian media started a campaign to defame Pakistan cricket.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has termed the news published in the Indian media as fabricated, baseless and contrary to the facts.
A PCB spokesman said that the Indian media is making speculative stories. The story has been fabricated from reducing the match fees of the players in the national T20 tournament.
He said that the PCB did not suffer any loss from the Champions Trophy. We will get $6 million on hosting and the revenue from gate money will be decided after an audit in a few months, while the rent of hotels, plane tickets, prize money and other expenses will be paid by the ICC.
Indian media reported that the Pakistan Cricket Board lost Rs869 crore ($85 million) while hosting the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, after which the board has taken strict measures such as cutting the match fees of the players and ending the facility of five-star hotels.
