Suraj Grahan 2025: What to know about first Solar Eclipse on March 29

25 March, 2025 19:41

The first solar eclipse of 2025 is just around the corner, happening on Saturday, March 29. People around the world are getting ready to witness this fascinating celestial event.

This eclipse will be a partial solar eclipse, meaning the moon will pass in front of the sun but only cover part of it. Because of this, only some parts of the world will be able to see it — including regions in Europe, Asia, North and South America, and over the Atlantic Ocean. Unfortunately, Pakistan and India won’t be able to view it, as the eclipse won’t be visible in these countries.

When’s the Next Solar Eclipse?

Don’t worry if you miss this one — there will be another solar eclipse on September 21, 2025. Skywatchers and space enthusiasts are already looking forward to that exciting moment.

What Are the Types of Solar Eclipses?

  1. Total Solar Eclipse:
The moon fully blocks the sun, briefly turning day into night. You might also see the sun’s glowing outer layer, called the corona.

  2. Partial Solar Eclipse:
The moon covers only a part of the sun, making it look like someone took a bite out of it.

  3. Annular Solar Eclipse:
The moon appears smaller than the sun and doesn’t fully cover it. This creates a bright ring of sunlight around the moon, often called the “ring of fire.”

  4. Hybrid Solar Eclipse:
A rare mix of both total and annular eclipses. Depending on your location, you might see either version due to the Earth’s shape.

Whether you can see it or not, eclipses are always a reminder of the wonders of space.
