Nepra cuts electricity tariff for all consumers

NEPRA approves reduction in electricity prices across Pakistan
After the announcement of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has made electricity cheaper under quarterly and monthly adjustments for the whole country, including Karachi.
According to Nepra notification, electricity has been reduced by Rs1.90 per unit under quarterly adjustment.
According to Nepra, under the fuel price adjustment of January, electricity per unit has been reduced by Rs3.2 per unit for Karachi and 46 paise per unit for Discos consumers except Karachi under the Fuel Price Adjustment of February.
Nepra says that this relief of Rs1.90 per month will be transferred to consumers in the electricity bills of April, May and June, in total it will provide relief of Rs56.38 billion to the electricity consumers.
This relief will be transferred to consumers in April electricity bills.
It may be recalled that on Thursday, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had announced a major reduction in electricity prices for domestic and industrial consumers.
According to official documents, the average price of electricity per unit has been reduced by Rs7.41.
The price of electricity for domestic consumers has been reduced by Rs7.15 per unit. The average price of electricity per unit has been reduced from Rs45.05 to Rs37.64.
According to the document, the price of electricity per unit for commercial consumers has been reduced by Rs8.58. After which electricity per unit has increased from Rs71.06 to Rs62.47.
