PSL 10 to feature full match Urdu commentary for the first time
Adding to the tradition for the first time in the history of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Urdu commentary will be an option for the 10th edition of the tournament, according to the PSL board, which announced that fans would be given the option of full match commentary in Urdu during the entire tournament. Fans would be able to feel the excitement and action of the league matches in Urdu.
Salman Naseer, the CEO of PSL referred to this as an important step forward, stating that cricket is dear to Pakistan and this initiative is designed to better connect to fans. Details on English and Urdu commentators will be provided soon.
The 10th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is going to kick off on April 11. Besides the announcement of commentary, the official anthem for the season has also been released.
The singers of this anthem include famous names such as Abrar-ul-Haq, Ali Zafar, Natasha Baig and Talha Anjum. Although it did not generate immediate acclaim from fans, it went viral quickly and it had one million views on Facebook and 300k on YouTube in just 12 hours.
Numerous supporters likened the new anthem to Ali Zafar’s earlier successful song, Phir Seeti Bajay Gi, which is a favorite among the masses. While some reactions to the new anthem have been mixed, it is clear that PSL’s music and commentary initiatives are designed to engage more and build excitement for this edition.
