Earthquake Tremors Felt Near Areas of Nushki, Quetta
On Monday, tremors from an earthquake were felt in the Pak-Afghan border region, including areas near Nushki and Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, as reported by national media.
The earthquake had a magnitude of 4.9 and occurred at a depth of 21 kilometers beneath the surface, with its epicenter located about 125 kilometers southwest of Quetta, according to the Seismological Center of Pakistan.
Fortunately, no casualties or damage were reported, but the tremors caused widespread panic among residents. Many people rushed out of their homes in fear, reciting prayers for safety.
The quake led to heightened anxiety in the affected areas, and similar tremors had recently been felt in multiple cities, including Quetta. On May 10, tremors were experienced in several other cities across Pakistan, such as Islamabad, Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Nowshera, Swabi, North Waziristan, and Attock. In all these cases, people quickly evacuated their homes in panic, though, like the recent tremors, no casualties or property damage were reported.
