Actor and director Yasir Hussain recently clapped back at TV host and actress Nadia Khan after she criticized his drama Paradise, which stars Iqra Aziz and Shuja Asad. Nadia shared her review on a talk show, expressing disappointment in the direction and storyline.
She particularly questioned the choice of the drama’s title, saying it didn’t match the content. “Since the title was in English, I expected a more cinematic experience,” she said, calling it just another family drama. Nadia also mentioned that a well-known director had questioned her for giving the drama a rating of “four,” to which she replied, “Dramas with poor execution should be rated no higher than two.”
Yasir didn’t take the criticism lightly. Sharing a clip of Nadia’s remarks on Instagram, he fired back with a sarcastic response. “I give her 1.5 marks for her entire acting career and 2.5 for her hosting,” he said, adding, “And nowadays, she’s even ahead of Arnab Goswami,” referring to the famously over-the-top Indian anchor.
Brushing off the impact of her rating, Yasir Hussain added, “Numbers don’t matter.”
Nadia Khan, known for her bold opinions, recently appeared on a talk show alongside Marina Khan and Atiqa Odho, discussing today’s drama trends. While she often makes headlines for her blunt takes, her comments sometimes stir backlash from audiences and fellow actors who feel she’s too critical. Still, Nadia insists her long experience in the industry gives her the right to critique openly.
