June 12, 2025 (Thursday) – A tragic air crash took place shortly after 1:39 PM in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. An Air India flight, operating as AI171, crashed just minutes after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The plane was heading to London Gatwick.

The aircraft, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, lost altitude mid-air and crashed into a building near Meghaninagar, a crowded residential area. A video of the crash shows the plane falling from the sky and bursting into flames. The explosion caused a huge fire, and thick black smoke was seen rising into the sky.

MAYDAY Call Before Crash

Air traffic control confirmed that the flight issued a MAYDAY call shortly after departure from Runway 23. The emergency message indicated serious trouble with the aircraft just moments before the crash.

Rescue Operations in Full Swing

After the crash, fire engines and ambulances were rushed to the crash site in Meghaninagar. Rescue teams began working immediately to save survivors and control the fire.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) sent three teams with 90 personnel from Gandhinagar, and three more teams from Vadodara are also on the way. Locals in the area are helping first responders with early rescue efforts.
