Putin condemn US attack on Iran’s nuclear program
Russian President Vladimir Putin has strongly criticized the recent US bombing of Iran, calling it “absolutely unprovoked aggression.” He made these remarks during a meeting with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Moscow.
Speaking on national TV, Putin said, “The absolutely unprovoked aggression against Iran has no basis and no justification.” He added, “For our part, we are making efforts to assist the Iranian people.”
Putin welcomed the visit of Araghchi, saying, “I am very glad that you are in Moscow today. This will give us the opportunity to discuss all these pressing issues and think together about how we could get out of today’s situation.”
In response, FM Araghchi thanked Putin for speaking out against the US strikes and said that Russia was on “the right side of history.” The meeting highlighted the growing cooperation between the two countries as tensions rise in the region.
Earlier, Tensions in the Middle East escalated further as Iran claimed to have shot down an Israeli drone in the Khorramabad region. Iranian state media released footage of the destroyed drone, intensifying fears of a widening conflict.
According to international reports, Israel conducted fresh airstrikes targeting Iranian military installations in Tehran and western Iran. Fighter jets of the Israeli Air Force reportedly hit strategic sites, though no official casualty figures have been released.
In a significant development, the United States supported Israel by launching airstrikes on Iran’s key nuclear facilities, including Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz, using advanced B-2 bombers. Iranian officials, however, assured that the nuclear assets remained secure despite the strikes.
