Celebs Go Dating Star Eden Blackman Dies Aged 57 After Long Illness
Celebs Go Dating star Eden Blackman has died at the age of 57 on Saturday, following a 'long illness', his family has confirmed
LONDON – June 25, 2025: Eden Blackman, well-known for his role as a dating expert on E4’s Celebs Go Dating, has tragically passed away at the age of 57. His family confirmed that he died on Saturday, June 21, after battling a long illness.
The heartbreaking announcement was made on Eden’s official Instagram account on Tuesday. In a touching message, his family described him as “fun, unpredictable, vivid and full of life.”
Remembering Eden Blackman
Eden rose to fame in 2016 when he joined Celebs Go Dating, helping celebrities such as Joey Essex, Gemma Collins, Georgia Toffolo, and others find love. His confidence, wit, and warm approach made him a fan favorite.
In their emotional post, Eden’s family shared three personal photos—one showing him smiling at the beach, another laughing in a recording booth, and one where he looked directly into the camera with his signature charm.
They wrote:
“Eden blazed through life with charm, mischief, and a fire that was entirely his own. Music was his first love, and he carved a path with deep care and instinct. Later, he brought the same wild spark to television, helping others shine with honesty and humor.”
Tributes Pour In
Following the announcement, a wave of tributes from fans, friends, and fellow stars poured in.
Tom Read-Wilson, his co-star, wrote: “I will always be grateful for his kindness and generosity of spirit.”
Paul C. Brunson, who took over Eden’s role, said: “He showed me kindness when he didn’t have to. I’ll never forget it.”
Anna Williamson, also a dating expert on the show, added: “Eden was always incredibly kind and supportive.”
Celebrities like Example, Zoe Ball, Fearne Cotton, and Dr Zoe Williams also expressed sorrow, calling Eden “charismatic,” “beautiful,” and “a gem.”
Life After Television
Eden left Celebs Go Dating in 2018 to focus on personal projects, including his dating app and music PR agency. He said at the time: “It’s now time for me to fully commit to my other passions.”
However, his time after the show was marked by a difficult public fallout with co-star Nadia Essex, which led to a legal battle and a harassment order. Eden later revealed in a 2020 interview that the situation had taken a serious toll on his mental health. He admitted to struggling with PTSD and feeling suicidal at times due to false online accusations.
A Lasting Legacy
Eden Blackman was known not only for his work but also for his spirit. His family’s tribute summed it up best:
“To know Eden was to be caught in his orbit. He stood proud, laughed loudly, and lived as only he could. We’ll carry his spirit with us always.”
They have asked for privacy as they grieve and thanked the public for their love and kindness.
