Sarwat Gilani Criticizes Nadia Khan for Her Remarks on Fellow Celebrities

Actress and activist Sarwat Gilani, known for her selective approach to projects and her consistent focus on films and web series over the past seven years, is set to return to television with an upcoming drama. Recently, she appeared on the show Nukta Pakistan, where she addressed several pressing issues.

During the interview, Sarwat responded to recent comments made by TV host and actress Nadia Khan. Nadia has been vocal following the India-Pakistan tensions, harshly criticizing celebrities like Fawad Khan, Hania Aamir, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and Atif Aslam for not publicly speaking out against India. She has repeatedly called out Pakistani stars who have worked across the border, often in a confrontational tone.

Sarwat Gilani took issue with Nadia Khan’s approach, stating that publicly berating fellow artists is not appropriate. She remarked that yelling at colleagues on television, as if they are subordinates, is uncalled for.

Sarwat pointed out that it’s easy to criticize from the comfort of an air-conditioned room but questioned whether Nadia had taken to the streets to protest, as Sarwat and others had.

She emphasized that while encouraging celebrities to show support for Pakistan is valid, it should be done respectfully and not in a way that resembles neighborhood squabbles.
