Who is Zahra Khan? Woman Behind Karachi’s Famous ‘No Nonsense Cheesecake’ Passes Away

Zahra Khan, the founder of Karachi’s popular home-based dessert brand No Nonsense Cheesecake, has passed away following a courageous battle with cancer, as announced in a heartfelt Instagram post.

The post read: “Zahra Khan, the force behind @ifyoulikecheese, wasn’t just the maker of Karachi’s most loved cheesecake. She was a warrior, a truth teller, and a light to so many. She turned her battle with cancer into a movement, breaking taboos and building a community with courage and grace. We’ll miss her sweetness, her strength, and her spirit. Thank you for everything, Zahra.”

Zahra was widely admired not only for her desserts but also for her strength and resilience. Diagnosed with stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma, a highly aggressive form of breast cancer, in January 2022, she faced the illness head-on. Despite undergoing six months of intensive chemotherapy—marked by severe side effects such as hair loss, fatigue, loss of taste, and lethargy—she continued working full-time as a Senior Strategist at JWT Grey.

Throughout her treatment, Zahra also grew No Nonsense Cheesecake significantly, often managing operations from her bed. Her social media following grew fourfold during this time, a reflection of her unwavering spirit and ability to inspire others while navigating personal hardship
