Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Visits Tianjin University, Praises Pakistan-China Ties

Tianjin, China: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited Tianjin University and praised the strength of Pak-China relations.

Addressing faculty members and students, he began his speech with a recitation from the Holy Quran. “Being present at Tianjin University is a matter of pride for me,” the Prime Minister said.

He praised the institution as “an excellent institution of knowledge and learning” and highlighted the role of its graduates, saying, “Graduates of this university have played a significant role in China’s journey of development.”

Noting the presence of Pakistani students, the Prime Minister stated, “Over 200 Pakistani students are currently studying at Tianjin University. Pakistani students are being equipped with modern education at this great institution. Pakistani students are ambassadors of Pakistan. After graduating from the university, contribute fully to the country’s development.”

On Pakistan-China relations, the Prime Minister emphasized the strong bilateral ties, saying, “Pak-China friendship is based on mutual trust, respect, and sincere love. Pakistan and China have supported each other in every difficult time. The friendship and relations between Pakistan and China are as long-standing as the Silk Road. Pakistan and China are historically and culturally connected.”

He recalled historical milestones, stating, “Pakistan was the first country in the Muslim world to recognize the People’s Republic of China. Sixty years ago, the first international flight to Beijing departed from Karachi.”

Highlighting symbols of bilateral cooperation, he added, “The Karakoram Highway is a great project symbolizing friendship between the two countries. Allama Iqbal, the Poet of the East, also predicted China’s development a century ago.”

The Prime Minister praised China’s development model, saying, “The way China lifted over 80 million people out of poverty is a model for the world. China today is a major economic and military power. We are proud of our strong friendship with China.”

He concluded by acknowledging China’s leadership, noting, “President Xi Jinping’s vision of common prosperity has captivated the world. The welfare and well-being of the people are the top priority of China’s government.”
