China Celebrates 80th Anniversary of WWII Victory with Grand Military Parade, Xi Reaffirms Peace Commitment

Beijing: On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Chinese people’s victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese aggression during World War II, a grand ceremony was held in Beijing.

At China’s grand parade, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif walked in side by side. The three key leaders entered the parade venue together. The Indian Prime Minister was not invited to this parade.

General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, President of the State, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, Xi Jinping, attended the ceremony and reviewed the military formations on Chang’an Avenue.

On this occasion, more than 45 formations and units saluted the President and participated in the parade with full preparation.

The parade featured a march-past of China’s modern tanks and armored vehicles, showcased hypersonic missiles and advanced weaponry, while patriotic tunes and the national anthem echoed across the skies of Beijing.

Helicopters carrying China’s national flag and modern fighter jets saluted President Xi Jinping.

President Xi then arrived at the central podium of Tiananmen and, in an important address to the nation, paid tribute to war heroes and reaffirmed China’s commitment to global peace and development.

In his speech, he said that the Chinese nation achieved victory through great sacrifices, and now it is our duty to learn from history and work to safeguard peace.

He stated that the Chinese people are committed to peace, and no matter how strong China becomes, it will not pursue expansionist ambitions.

During the ceremony, an 80-gun salute was given to symbolize the 80th anniversary of this historic victory.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with 26 global leaders, attended the parade. Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un were the chief guests at the ceremony.

The presence of Pakistan’s Prime Minister alongside the leaders of Asia’s powerful nations highlights Pakistan’s growing importance in the region.
