Washington: US President Donald Trump has revealed the newly renovated Lincoln Bathroom, calling it “absolutely beautiful” and praising its white-and-black marble design with gold accents.

Trump shared photos of the bathroom on Truth Social, saying it features “highly polished, statuary marble.” The design is similar to the luxury style of his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

The renovation, however, has drawn strong criticism from historians and preservationists, who say Trump’s changes have damaged the historic character of the White House. The Lincoln Bathroom, which connects to the Lincoln Bedroom, has traditionally been kept in its original style since the Civil War era.

Critics accuse Trump of going too far with his White House makeovers — including demolishing the East Wing, paving the Rose Garden, and adding gold details to the Oval Office. Some Democrats have claimed that taxpayer money is being used for Trump’s personal style projects.

A White House official said the Lincoln Bathroom renovation was self-funded by Trump, though no documents confirming this have been released. Preservation groups are now calling for more transparency about the renovations and how they are being paid for.
