Veteran Bollywood actor Prem Chopra, 92, is recovering after being hospitalised in Mumbai due to a viral infection and age-related complications.
He was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on Saturday. Doctors have confirmed that his condition is stable and improving.
Dr. Jalil Parkar, who is treating the actor, told PTI, “He is a known cardiac patient and had a viral infection. He is being treated for his lungs. He is not in the ICU; he is in the ward.”
Dr. Parkar further added that due to his age, recovery might take a few more days. “He should be fine in three to four days and go home,” he said.
Prem Chopra’s son-in-law, actor Vikas Bhalla, also reassured fans that it was a routine check-up and there was no cause for concern.
With a career spanning over six decades and more than 400 films, Prem Chopra is known for his legendary villain roles in movies like Upkar (1967), Do Raaste (1969), Bobby (1973), and Kranti (1981).
His most recent appearance was in Animal (2023) alongside Ranbir Kapoor.
