Gul Plaza Fire: Karachi police share new traffic routes – check here

KARACHI: The Karachi Traffic Police have closed MA Jinnah Road from Tibet to Garden Chowk for all traffic due to ongoing rescue and cooling operations at Gul Plaza after a devastating fire.

Officials have confirmed that 14 people have lost their lives, while more than 60 people are still missing. Rescue teams are working continuously to search for survivors inside the damaged building.

Traffic Advisory and Alternate Routes

Due to the road closure, commuters are advised to use alternate routes to avoid delays and support rescue efforts.

• For vehicles going towards Tower from Numaish:
  Take a left turn at Capri, then go through Saddar Dawakhana, Empress Market, Regal, and Burns Road, and finally turn right at Fresco to reach Tower.

• For vehicles heading to Mazar-e-Quaid:
  From Fresco, go towards Regal, then take a left at Empress Market and continue towards Frere Hall Chowk.

Public Advisory

Motorists are strongly advised to follow traffic police instructions, use the suggested routes, and avoid the affected area. This will help reduce congestion and allow emergency teams to continue recovery work without interruption.
