Sindh extends winter school timings due to cold weather
The Sindh School Education and Literacy Department has extended the revised winter school timings across the province. All schools will now follow the winter schedule until February 4 because of the ongoing cold weather.
Earlier, the winter timings were supposed to end on January 26. However, due to the strong cold spell, the government decided to extend the schedule to protect students and teachers from harsh weather conditions.
Under the extended schedule, all public and private schools in Sindh will continue to start classes at 9:00 AM. There is no change in school closing times. These timings were first introduced on January 10 to reduce the impact of cold mornings.
An education department spokesperson confirmed that the decision applies to all schools working under the Sindh government. Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah personally approved the extension, saying that student safety remains the top priority as temperatures continue to fall in many areas of the province.
