School Timings for Ramadan 2026 in Pakistan

26 January, 2026 13:48

The Punjab School Education Department has announced that school timings will be changed during the holy month of Ramadan 2026. Every year, school hours are reduced in Ramadan to give relief to students, teachers, and staff who observe fasting from dawn to dusk.

Ramadan 2026 in Pakistan is expected to begin on February 18 or February 19, depending on the sighting of the moon.

According to expected timings, regular schools will operate from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm from Monday to Thursday, while on Fridays, classes will end earlier at 12:30 pm.

For double-shift schools, the first shift is likely to run from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. The second shift may operate from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, while on Fridays, the second shift timing is expected to be 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm.

At present, schools in Punjab are following timings from 8:45 am to 1:30 pm, and this schedule has been extended until April 15. However, many parents have raised concerns, saying that the late start at 8:45 am is inconvenient, especially as smog levels have reduced.

The education department usually announces final Ramadan timings closer to the start of the holy month.
