CDF Asim Munir meets Saudi Defence Minister to discuss measures to halt Iranian attacks on kingdom

Rawalpindi, 7 March 2026: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces of Pakistan, visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and held high-level talks with Prince Khalid Bin Salman, Defence Minister of KSA.

During the meeting, both military leaders discussed the gravity of the regional security situation arising from recent Iranian drone and missile attacks targeting Saudi Arabia. The discussions focused on joint measures under the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement to counter these threats effectively.

Field Marshal Munir and Prince Khalid emphasized that unprovoked aggression undermines regional stability and threatens peaceful settlement efforts. Both sides expressed the hope that Iran would exercise prudence and restraint to avoid miscalculations that could escalate the crisis.

The leaders reiterated their commitment to supporting friendly countries seeking a peaceful resolution while ensuring regional security remains a priority.

This visit underscores Pakistan’s proactive engagement with Saudi Arabia to address cross-border security challenges posed by Iranian missile and drone activities. Both sides highlighted the importance of coordinated defense strategies to protect civilians and critical infrastructure in the region.
