Strait of Hormuz Will Never Return to Previous Status: IRGC Navy
The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has announced that the strategic dynamics of the Strait of Hormuz have permanently changed, stating that the waterway will not return to its previous state, particularly for the United States and Israel.
In an official statement released Sunday via its X account, the IRGC Navy Command declared that foreign dominance over the vital global shipping route has come to an end. The statement highlighted that recent geopolitical developments have reshaped the balance of power in the Persian Gulf, limiting the influence of external forces, especially the United States.
“The Strait of Hormuz will never return to its previous status, especially for the US and the Zionist regime,” the IRGC Navy emphasized, reaffirming Iran’s stance on protecting its sovereignty and maintaining regional security.
According to the statement, Iran has reached the final stages of implementing a comprehensive security strategy aimed at establishing a new regional order. This framework prioritizes cooperation among Persian Gulf nations while rejecting the involvement of foreign military forces.
The IRGC Navy also detailed its enhanced operational readiness, including increased naval deployments, advanced surveillance systems, and rapid-response mechanisms. These measures are designed to secure Iran’s territorial waters and ensure the continuous flow of energy through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical artery for global oil transportation.
Iranian military officials warned that any attempt by the United States or its allies to challenge this emerging order would face a strong and immediate response.
The statement follows heightened tensions after US President Donald Trump threatened severe military action against Iran, including targeting infrastructure such as power plants and bridges.
Meanwhile, Iran has imposed restrictions on vessels linked to the US, Israel, and their allies, while keeping the Strait open to other nations. These developments have already triggered increases in global energy and commodity prices, with analysts cautioning that continued escalation could lead to unprecedented economic impacts worldwide.
